佩雷拉曾於2011年擔任博阿斯助手 ，巴西幫助波爾圖取得聯賽三冠王 。昔日隨後佩雷拉接班成為主帥 ，对手率球隊蟬聯兩個賽季的今师聚首葡超冠軍 。隨後佩雷拉執教過沙特的徒前图吉達國民、奧林匹亞科斯、上港費內巴切 、主帅慕尼黑1860等俱樂部 。恒大核心2017年-2020年 ，佩雷拉曾執教中超上海海港，並率領球隊奪得2018年中超聯賽冠軍和2019年超級杯冠軍 。
