A man who died after he was tasered by police has been named by local UK papers as ex-Aston Villa footballer Dalian Atkinson.
Police said officers were called to a home in Shropshire due to "concern for the safety of an individual".
"Upon arrival Taser was deployed and a 48-year-old man, who subsequently received medical attention, was pronounced dead at approximately 3 a.m.," it said.
Police said it referred the incident to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) and was unable to comment further.
