Audio erotica platform Bloom launches its AI-powered "roleplaying" chatbots today. Now, users can "interact" with characters from steamy stories, from a ranch hand to a dominatrix, with Bloom Chat. Unlike other bots like ChatGPT that prohibit sexual conversation, Bloom's chatbots encourages it, and will get as X-rated as you'd like.
Formerly Audiodesires, Bloom launched in 2020 and now has a library of over 800 original stories in English, Spanish, and German, and boasts 500,000 users. On the app, you can enjoy scripted erotic stories featuring one or more voice actors; guided solo play and partner play tracks; affirmations; and sleep stories.

Bloom Chat is available for free users to enjoy endless text messages. Premium Bloom members receive 15 complimentary voice messages a month; additional voice messages can be purchased within the app.
Mashable got a sneak peek of Bloom Chat, and found that it was a seamless and sexy experience, weaving between enthusiastic text messages and erotic voice notes. The latter sounded like real voices, not AI uncanny valley sounds like you may experience elsewhere. And, unsurprisingly, the bots are focused on your pleasure — no selfish lovers here.

Not only are the bots trained to replicate the nuances and personality of each character, they're also designed to match the desires and tone of the user.
As this summer's Hollywood strikes brought to the forefront, AI comes with ethical issues around using someone's likeness and IP, and Bloom told Mashable they're aware of these concerns. To address them, Bloom built several licensing model options to assure that voice actors are fairly compensated for the licensing of their audio likeness for this specific use.
Bloom's actors were consulted during the development of Bloom Chat, and were given a chance to "opt in" with the licensing agreement with which they were most comfortable. Actors were also involved to assure that the bots accurately represented their characters and captured their idiosyncrasies. The chatbots won't replace or reduce any roles for either actors or writers, Bloom stated in an FAQ.
Further, Bloom doesn't plan on using AI to create other content. Rather, the chatbots will be an enhancement to the human-created stories on the platform.
Another concern with AI is data collection. In this case, your data (aka your messages to the bots) is anonymized and processed to facilitate the conversation and improve the AI. Bloom won't use this data for any other purpose or share it with third parties.

In addition to original stories and Bloom Chat, users can read along with audio stories; sync Lovense-branded Bluetooth sex toys to "feel the action" while listening; and submit their own fantasy to the writing team.
"When it comes to sexual content, we all have unique and specific desires we want to see fulfilled," said Bloom CEO Hannah Albertshauser in the press release. "And the more dynamic and customizable an experience can be, the more a user's exact preferences and desires can be satisfied. This is what we set out to change by introducing a feature where users can tell their favorite voices exactly what they are in the mood for and what fantasies they want to explore."
