SEE ALSO:No, CNN did not stage a protest after the London attackIn his latest tweet, the U.S. president doubled down his on criticism of the mayor of London Sadiq Khan, just a few days after seven people were killed and 48 injured in a terror attack in London Bridge and Borough Market, in the centre of the capital.

However, the quote was totally taken out of context.
Khan made the comment in a statement overnight and in a TV interview, saying there was "no reason to be alarmed" by the increased police presence in London after the attack.
Here's the whole statement:
“My message to Londoners and visitors to our great city is to be calm and vigilant today. You will see an increased police presence today, including armed officers and uniformed officers. There is no reason to be alarmed by this. We are the safest global city in the world. You saw last night as a consequence of our planning, our preparation, the rehearsals that take place, the swift response from the emergency services tackling the terrorists and also helping the injured.”
But Trump seized that single quote and tweeted in response:

Khan didn't lose his cool.
His spokesman said the mayor had “more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump’s ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks”.
Ministers in the Tory government criticised Trump's tweets, and prime minister Theresa May defended Khan by saying he's doing an "excellent job" after the tragic events. But she stopped short from attacking Trump.
Trump's comments were not endorsed by the U.S. embassy in London:
