北京時間5月31日 ，欧足欧超歐洲法院通過社交媒體宣布，联官歐超聯盟已經將歐足聯和國際足聯狀告到馬德裏法院 ，应被指控兩個機構涉嫌壟斷 ，起诉違反歐盟競爭法 。定捍馬德裏法院即將對歐足聯和國際足聯兩個機構展開調查 ，卫自歐洲法院也會參與 。身立對此 ，欧足欧超歐足聯官方也做出了相應的联官回應 。
歐足聯官方表示：“歐足聯注意到歐洲法院已經受理了歐超聯賽相關法案 ，应被盡管這個所謂的起诉‘歐超聯賽’的9個創始俱樂部都已經退出 。歐足聯對自身的定捍立場充滿信心 ，並會堅定地捍衛它 。卫自”
