在隊內後防核心瀨古步夢轉會瑞士超級聯賽草蜢隊後 ，近签大阪櫻花急需補強後防線，援约而約尼奇的尼奇回歸對於大阪櫻花來講無疑是令人鼓舞的消息 。
來自克羅地亞的日媒約尼奇2017年加盟大阪櫻花 ，在4個賽季的费基比賽中僅缺席一場 ，共出場156次，阪樱本谈奉獻13球 ，成為球隊後防線不可或缺的人物 ，並幫助球隊奪得過日聯杯和天皇杯兩座獎杯 。
