五月底 ，菲律2022卡塔爾世界杯預選賽亞洲區40強賽就將重燃戰火 。宾队不惧标连與中國隊同組的主帅中国菲律賓隊計劃於5月18日至31日在卡塔爾多哈集訓 ，然後再趕赴蘇州打最後三場世預賽。强赛近日，队目菲律賓隊主教練斯科特-庫珀表示，胜收他率隊的菲律目標就是力爭三連勝 ！
菲律賓隊在前五輪戰罷2勝1平2負 ，宾队不惧标连與隻打了四場比賽的主帅中国中國隊同積7分。主教練庫珀近日公開表示要率隊在最後三場比賽中爭取全勝 。强赛同時 ，队目也感謝了卡塔爾為球隊提供訓練營的胜收機會 。
“謝天謝地 ，菲律菲律賓主席和秘書長拔刀相助 ，宾队不惧标连為我們爭取到了一個訓練營 ，主帅中国給我們備戰創造了最好的條件。”
“我們沒有任何借口 ，沒有球員缺席，在多哈也有充裕的備戰時間 ，我們已經在客場擊敗了馬爾代夫和關島 ，在主場還逼平了中國隊 。目前與中國隊同分 ，所以 ，現在要由我們教練組來幫助球隊提高標準 ，這也是我們希望在國家隊能做到的 。我們的目標就是在小組賽最後幾場比賽中取得三場勝利 。”根據賽程安排 ，菲律賓隊在6月9日將與中國隊交鋒 。（卓奧友）
