菲律賓隊在前五輪戰罷2勝1平2負 ，宾队不惧标连與隻打了四場比賽的主帅中国中國隊同積7分 。主教練庫珀近日公開表示要率隊在最後三場比賽中爭取全勝 。强赛同時 ，队目也感謝了卡塔爾為球隊提供訓練營的胜收機會 。
“謝天謝地，菲律菲律賓主席和秘書長拔刀相助，宾队不惧标连為我們爭取到了一個訓練營 ，主帅中国給我們備戰創造了最好的條件。”
