When you think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the first thing that comes to mind isn't likely to be conservation. The former Terminator turned Governator turned Apprentice host is better known for his huge muscles, his brash '80s action star chops and his big personality.
But after governing the state of California, Schwarzenegger became a (literally) huge proponent of clean energy tech, especially electric cars. So when an Austrian electric battery company Kriesel tricked out a monstrous SUV with a new electric engine, it was fitting that the Arnold was on hand with his countrymen to give the beast its world premiere.

But with the electric engine conversion, the G-Class has a range of about 300 kilometers (186 miles) per charge. Most impressively, Kriesel claims the battery can charge up to 80 percent capacity in only 25 minutes.
The EV G-wagon can hit a a maximum speed of 183 km/h (133 mph) and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph 5.6 seconds — about 3 seconds faster than than the standard version from Mercedes. By going zero emissions, this car got even more badass.
Kriesel claims Schwarzenegger will also have access to one of Kriesel's G-350 EV prototypes at home in L.A. He'll log some miles in between Apprenticetapings to help the company develop the tech — and probably to distract him from disses from the president of the United States.
