Ridley Scott has confirmed that a Blade Runnerlive action TV series is coming, along with tiny details for the already announced Alienseries.
The House of Guccidirector spoke about both new series on BBC radio news and current affairs program Todayon Monday. "We're already into having written the pilot for Blade Runner," he said. “So [we're] already presenting Blade Runneras a TV show, which will probably be the first 10 hours."
The live action Blade Runnerseries is different to Adult Swim's anime series Blade Runner: Black Lotus, which has three episodes out so far after premiering on Nov. 14. It's not clear where and when the Blade Runnerseries will pick up, whether before or after the events of Scott's original 1982 dystopian sci-fi classic, or Denis Villeneuve's monumental sequel, Blade Runner 2049.
As the series is in an early writing stage, the cast has also not been announced.

Meanwhile, Scott also confirmed a few small details about the live action Alienseries, inspired by the beloved sci fi horror film series that began in 1979. It was first announced by Disney for FX in December with Fargoshowrunner Noah Hawley at the helm. "Alienis now being written for pilot," Scott confirmed. "You have to also write out the history, if it's eight hours or 10 hours, the bible of what happens in those 10 hours."
The only thing we really know for sure?
"It’s nota Ripley story," Hawley told Vanity Fairin December. "She’s one of the great characters of all time, and I think the story has been told pretty perfectly, and I don’t want to mess with it. It’s a story that’s set on Earth also. The alien stories are always trapped...Trapped in a prison, trapped in a space ship. I thought it would be interesting to open it up a little bit so that the stakes of 'What happens if you can’t contain it?' are more immediate."
