伊拉克足協昨天(26日)表示 ，本国稱定於下個月進行的主场世預賽12強賽兩個主場比賽將繼續安排在卡塔爾首都多哈進行 。先前 ，未获伊拉克足協曾提出安排在伊拉克本土的批准巴士拉進行，但未能獲得國際足聯的伊拉批準 。
伊拉克足協官方發言人艾哈邁德·穆薩維昨天表示 ，克强伊拉克足協在上個月曾邀請國際足聯考察團抵達伊拉克境內 ，赛主對巴士拉國際體育場進行全麵考察 ，场继以便希望國際足聯能夠解除對伊拉克的续设禁令 ，讓伊拉克球隊能夠回到自己的多哈主場參加比賽 。而國際足聯之所以派遣考察團對伊拉克進行全麵考察，本国是主场伊拉克體育部長與國際足聯主席因凡蒂諾會晤之後 、因凡蒂諾做出的未获承諾 ，將盡快解除對伊拉克的批准禁令 。
據稱 ，伊拉在國際足聯考察團對巴士拉全方位考察 ，包括安全 、球場設施等等 ，之後曾表示 ：他們對巴士拉的情況表示滿意 。在這個基礎之上 ，伊拉克足協正式向國際足聯提出 ：希望11月11日主場對敘利亞隊 、11月16日主場對韓國隊的兩場比賽能夠安排在巴士拉進行。不過 ，國際足聯召開相關會議之後，並未批準伊拉克足協的請求。在這種情況下，伊拉克隊隻能繼續選擇多哈為自己的主場 。
穆薩維表示 ，明年3月24日，伊拉克隊在12強賽中將會是最後一個主場對陣阿聯酋隊 ，屆時球隊能否可以回到伊拉克本土作賽 ，將取決於國際足聯的下一次會議決定，伊拉克足協將繼續努力爭取國際足聯盡早解除對伊拉克的禁令 。
