北京時間4月19日 ，后盾在歐洲超級聯賽宣布誕生之後 ，摩根雖然該提議得到了眾多足球人士以及各大機構的大通廣泛反對 ，但是参欧超联持在其背後仍有強力支援力量 。據路透社消息稱 ，供资美國摩根大通銀行將成為歐超聯賽的金支強力後盾 ，並將為該聯賽提供資金支持。强力其提
報道指出 ，后盾摩根大通集團的摩根一名發言人表示 ：“摩根大通參與到了歐洲超級聯賽的建立之中 ，將為歐超聯賽的大通運行提供資金扶持。”摩根大通是参欧超联持全球盈利最佳的銀行之一 ，擁有超過2.5萬億美元的供资資產 ，管理的金支資金超過1.5萬億美元。2020年7月 ，强力其提福布斯2020全球品牌價值100強名單中 ，摩根大通占據第45位 。
報道進一步稱，這次歐超聯賽的建立也是做好了與外界反對聲音的準備 。歐超聯賽公司已經致信國際足聯和歐足聯 ，若他們阻撓歐超聯賽的成立 ，將會采取法律手段應對 。同時，記者表示歐超聯賽公司已經準備好多份法律文件來應對國際足聯和歐足聯的阻撓 。
參加歐超聯賽的12家俱樂部分別是曼聯 、利物浦、阿森納 、切爾西、熱刺 、曼城 、巴薩 、皇馬 、馬競 、米蘭、國米 、尤文 。其中 ，皇馬主席弗洛倫蒂諾出任新組建的歐超聯賽主席，尤文主席阿涅利和曼聯主席喬爾-格雷澤出任歐超聯賽副主席 。
