當地時間10月9日，英媒英國媒體《每日郵報》報道了一則關於獲取世界杯舉辦權的俄罗黑幕交易 。消息稱，塔尔通过俄羅斯和卡塔爾相互勾結 ，勾结並通過賄賂的贿赂获世方式獲得了世界杯的舉辦權 。
《每日郵報》表示 ，界杯举办他們從曾經在卡塔爾世界杯申辦團隊工作的英媒成員費德拉-阿爾馬吉德（Phaedra Almajid）處得到消息，卡塔爾申辦團隊在2010年年初時，俄罗曾向國際足聯執行委員會的塔尔通过3名成員提供了每人150萬美元賄賂 ，從而買到了他們手中的勾结選票 。
