She-Hulk: Attorney At Law's third episode boasts one of the MCU's most fun and out-of-left-field cameos yet. That's a bold statement given the variety of inspired cameos in this past spring's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness— Bruce Campbell, John Krasinski, Charlize Theron, and even Patrick Stewart made appearances — but trust us on this one.
A subplot of episode 3 sees annoying district attorney Dennis Bukowski (Drew Matthews) seeking damages from a shapeshifting elf who convinced him he was dating the actual Megan Thee Stallion. When the court rules in favor of Dennis, the chart-topping, Grammy award-winning superstar is revealed to be in the crowd, triumphantly asserting that there is only one Megan Thee Stallion.

She-Hulk's head writer and executive producer Jessica Gao revealed to Mashable that when she and her team were first working on the episode, they didn't know which famous celebrity they were going to insert into the Dennis storyline.
"For the story to work, we needed a famous, successful, and beautiful female celebrity. We weren't sure if she was going to be an actress or a model or a musician, because it could go so many different ways, and it would kind of change the story a tiny bit, depending on who it was," Gao said in a Zoom interview.
But then everything clicked when Jameela Jamil, who plays superpowered influencer Titania in She-Hulk, suggested Megan. The two had previously worked together on HBO Max's Legendary, a voguing reality TV competition.
"When [Jameela] brought [Megan] up, it stopped everyone in their tracks. If we knew that she would do it, then obviously it would be her — there would be no one else in the running as far as we're concerned," said Gao. "It was just a matter of, 'Does shewant us?' And then we found out that she loves Marvel and she loves superheroes. It all came together really quickly, and it was just such a dream come true."
The choice proved especially exciting for Tatiana Maslany, who does double duty starring as Jennifer Walters and She-Hulk. She-Hulk director and executive producer Kat Coiro told Mashable, "Tatiana is the world's biggest Megan fan, so she just was vibrating with excitement."

Episode 3's post-credits bumper, which sees Jennifer take Megan on as a client before twerking along with her to Megan's song "Body," stemmed from Maslany's love of the rapper. "The scene of them dancing was actually added so that Tatiana could have a scene with [Megan] and show us her twerking abilities, which go toe to toe," Coiro said. So, when Jennifer tells Megan she would kill for her, chances are there's a bit of Maslany's real fandom in there too. And who can blame her?
Megan Thee Stallion is the latest in a slew of cool cameos slipped into the first three episodes of She-Hulk, although it's the only one not connected to the MCU. We've also seen Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Abomination (Tim Roth), and Wong (Benedict Wong) pop up. Jennifer even remarks on the number of cameos in one of her fourth-wall-breaking asides to the audience...before reminding us that this is hershow. As if we'd ever forget you, Jennifer!
According to Coiro and Gao, all the cameos are by design, linking back to the show's main genre of "fun lawyer show."
"The format of a legal comedy really lends itself to organically bringing in cameos, because this lawyer is always going to be working on cases, she's always going to be working on lawsuits, and that means naturally that there have to be people behind those lawsuits," Gao said.
After seeing Megan Thee Stallion in She-Hulk, the most logical question is... Who's next? We know Daredevil (Charlie Cox) will show up at some point, but Megan's cameo throws the door wide open for any other celebrity.
Who knows, maybe Megan herself will return! After all, she is represented by Jennifer. And wouldn't it be a joy to watch them storm through the legal system together? I'm just saying, a Megan Thee Stallion/Tatiana Maslany buddy comedy could be big.
