In honor of the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, author J.K. Rowling again steps up to say she's sorry for ripping our favorite characters from this fictional mortal coil.

According to Rowling, poor Remus only perished in order to save Arthur Weasley. It was a tough call, but arguably the right one. The Weasleys have already endured enough tragedy.
Since Rowling only apologizes for one death a year, she has no words for Lupin's wife, Nymphadora Tonks.
