12月26日晚上20點 ，练登中超爭冠組上演一場焦點對決 ，场郑廣州隊應戰北京國安 。衔全先在賽前公布的华班首發名單中 ，廣州隊執行主教練鄭智的安挂名字赫然在列 ，這也是帅后首次本賽季鄭智掛帥後的首次先發出場 。
隨著外援和一眾歸化球員的主教智领战国流失 ，廣州隊的练登整體實力大不如前 。不過 ，场郑好在球隊底蘊深厚 ，衔全先隊中依舊有不少國腳級的华班球員支撐場麵 ，所以 ，安挂球隊的帅后首次戰鬥力依舊排在中超前列 。
中超第一階段後 ，主教智领战国卡納瓦羅離任廣州隊主帥職位 ，鄭智成為球隊的執行主教練 。第二階段此前的比賽，他一直在場邊指揮 ，並未出場 。本賽季鄭智在第一階段為球隊出場過9場比賽 ，其中4次首發 。
在本場比賽之前 ，廣州隊10勝5平3負積35分排名爭冠組第二 ，北京國安8勝4平6負積28分排名爭冠組第六 。
