北京時間4月1日 ，新赛職業聯盟籌備組在上海召開2021賽季職業聯賽俱樂部負責人會議，季中阶段阶段公布各級聯賽競賽計劃及聯賽管理工作相關細則 。超第據了解 ，为赛本賽季中超將分為三個階段進行，制或通過交叉分組的第第形式打滿30輪 ，決定最後的归主名次 ，第一階段采取賽會製 ，客场第二和第三階段有望回歸主客場賽製 。新赛
第一階段組內進行雙循環比賽，季中阶段阶段14輪比賽結束後，超第A組前4名與B組5-8名組成新的为赛小組 ，B組前4名與A組5-8名組成新的制或小組，再次進行組內雙循環，第第第一階段已經交手過的归主球隊將不再交手 ，比如A組第一將不再和A組第二交手 ，隻跟B組5-8名分別交手 。
第二階段的8輪比賽結束後 ，第一階段A組前4名和B組前4名 ，A組5-8名和B組5-8名組成新的小組 ，再次進行組內雙循環，第一階段已經交手過的球隊將不再交手 ，比如A組第一將不再和A組第二交手，隻跟B組1-4名分別交手 。
30輪比賽結束後 ，將依據總的積分決定最終的排名 。
另外關於主客場的問題 ，據了解，會議期間多家俱樂部老總已經明確提出需要盡快恢複主客場 ，以降低俱樂部的經營壓力，為俱樂部提供更多的商業運營平台 。中國足協也將相關工作提上議事日程 ，如果疫情防控條件不出現大的反複 ，中超有望在第二、三階段恢複主客場賽製。實際上現有賽製的設定也為隨時恢複主客場留出了空間 。
