北京時間11月23日淩晨 ，年度FIFA官方公布了年度最佳門將候選名單 。最佳今夏幫助意大利隊奪得歐洲杯冠軍的门将门迪多納魯馬 、切爾西“門神”門迪 、候选目前效力於萊斯特城的多纳丹麥“門神”小舒梅切爾等入圍 。
FIFA官方表示，鲁马领衔蓝军列該投票將於歐洲中部時間2021年12月10日23:59（北京時間12月11日06:59）截止 。年度2022年1月17日將公布獲獎名單 ，最佳此次頒獎典禮將在蘇黎世國際足聯總部以線上形式舉行 。门将门迪
