If you're fighting for your political life in a tough campaign, it's best to go to where the people are and, in the Bay Area, everyone is all about the Golden State Warriors.

So it makes sense, then, that Bernie Sanders, in town on a campaign stop, should turn up at Monday night's huge Western Conference Finals Game 7 between the Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After delivering a handful of speeches in Oakland during the day ahead of California's June 7 primary, Sanders made his way to Oracle Arena to take in the pivotal playoff game with actor Danny Glover. It's an impressive feat given seats for the game were going for steep prices.

The pair join a long list of dignitaries -- including Beyonce, Jay-Z, Drake, and the late Prince -- who have made big entrances at Warriors games this season.

Once Sanders made his way into the crowd, he was mobbed by well-wishers, supporters, and Warriors fans of all stripes who, as the Warriors pulled ahead of the Thunder, began insisting that the senator from Vermont come to every Warriors game going forward.

Given Sanders' uphill attempt to catch Hillary Clinton in the race to take the Democratic presidential nomination, it's appropriate he arrived in town in time to see the Warriors overcome their own long odds in coming back from a 3-to-1 series deficit. They're the 10th team in NBA history to pull off such an unlikely win.
