Users around the globe are reporting a widespread outage that's affecting Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger.
At the moment, all these Facebook-owned services are down.

Instagram users are reporting a "5xx Server Error."
Attempts to use the iOS app return the following message:
"We're sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again."

Opening the WhatsApp iOS app prompts a constant loading graphic indicating an attempt to connect to the platform's servers.
According to Downdetector, issues with all three services appear to have begun a little after 1 p.m ET on Friday.
Mashable has reached out to Facebook to find out more information about the outage affecting Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger. We will update this post when we hear back.
