For the past few years trumpeter Niko Segal has gone by his stage name "Donnie Trumpet." But after Tuesday's election, he couldn't take it anymore.

He wrote that while on tour he felt "something heavy" looming over him: "The connection people are drawing between his name and mine."
This was not something he could handle.
"What began as a joke, a silly play on words, is not funny anymore. I don't want to be connected to Trump’s hateful tone or his hurtful message. I don’t want to be misrepresented or misunderstood. Trump’s beliefs are not mine."
Segal has been collaborating with Chance the Rapper through the group "The Social Experiment." Chance voiced his support of Segal's choice.
