BERLIN -- Sony's still hammering away at its e-paper watch.
The second-generation watch is called the FES (by Fashion Entertainment Watch) Watch U and it's a more refined than the original model with a more scratch-resistant sapphire glass front.

The FES Watch U connects to iOS, but not Android (Sony's considering adding Android support).
Because of its e-paper technology, battery life is extremely long, lasting up to three weeks on a single charge.

The original FES was successfully funded and delivered to buyers last year. Don't live in Japan? Tough luck, because there's no sign that it'll be crowdfunded in other markets.
The new FES Watch U is also more expensive, starting at about $485 versus the $240 for the original.
