When 13-year-old Ryan McKenna tried to take a selfie with Justin Timberlake during the Super Bowl halftime show, he instantly became a meme.

Twitter was flooded with pictures and GIFs of McKenna on his phone during the performance, while Justin Timberlake danced only a few inches away.

But look a little closer at that selfie and you'll see something else.

As @TommySledge pointed out on Twitter, the guy behind McKenna and Timberlake was holding twophones.

Who is he? Why was he holding two phones? One for his Instagram story and the other for Snapchat?

Was one his work phone and the other his personal phone? Why did he need to use both at the same time? Did someone pass him their phone to record Timberlake's performance?

The mystery double phone man was finally identified as Freddie Mitchell, the 39-year-old former Eagles wide receiver.

Mitchell played for the Eagles for four seasons, from 2000 to 2004. He hasn't played football since 2008, but Eagles fans were glad to see him at the Super Bowl.

Although Mitchell was identified, it still doesn't explain why he had two phones. Maybe Paul Pierce has answers.

Mitchell confirmed on Twitter that he was the man in the crowd on Sunday, but has yet to comment on his multiple phones. We have reached out to him for comment, and we'll update this post if we hear back.
