雖然金特羅 、发挥瓦卡索和普拉利甘吉三名外援無緣征戰足協杯 ，进强但考慮到陝西隊是不话不折不扣的中乙弱旅 ，隻排在鹽城賽區第七名。深足首战就兩隊的中乙正常整體實力來看，深足應該可以過關。概率过关晉級16強後 ，粤媒深足的发挥對手將是滄州雄獅和淄博蹴鞠中的勝者 ，苦於中超保級的进强滄州隊勢必不會對足協杯戰線太過熱心 ，而整體實力欠佳的不话淄博隊也不是深圳隊的對手 。對深足來說 ，深足首战隻要正常發揮 ，打進8強不在話下 。
為了備戰足協杯，深足在9月初曾飛赴昆明拉練 ，看得出來深足俱樂部對足協杯和中超第二階段都非常重視 。
