北京時間9月6日淩晨 ，故意世界杯預選賽南美賽區 ，开赛巴西主場對陣阿根廷 。战腰斩梅比賽開場僅6分鍾 ，踢们就因巴西防疫部門的故意介入被迫中斷 。據悉，开赛巴西防疫部門要求阿根廷陣中4名從英超聯賽趕來的战腰斩梅球員離場 。隨後 ，踢们雙方爆發衝突 ，故意緊接著阿根廷球員離場。开赛南美足聯官方發布公告 ，战腰斩梅確認巴阿戰腰斬，踢们具體處置還需等待FIFA決定 。故意對於巴西當局的做法，阿根廷頭號球星梅西也是很憤怒 。
據tyc消息稱 ，在與現場的官員溝通無果後，梅西表示 ：“我們要走了。我們三天前就到了，但沒人提醒我們要發生什麽事。賽前他們還說我們可以踢比賽 ，他們就是故意等著開賽了才來 。”
