北京時間7月1日，越南2022年卡塔爾世界杯亞洲區預選賽第三階段暨12強賽分組抽簽儀式在馬來西亞吉隆坡的国脚国队亞足聯總部舉行。中國國家隊與日本、喜欢澳大利亞 、和中沙特阿拉伯、同组阿曼、中国足球走下越南同在B組 。越南越南媒體對於與中國隊同組展現了非常“樂觀”的国脚国队態度 ，裴天勇更是喜欢表達了自己很開心能和中國隊同組的。
越南媒體報道稱 ：中國男足正在走下坡 ，和中雖然越南隊近段時間對中國隊是同组六連敗 。裴天勇則表示 ：我喜歡和中國同組 ，中国足球走下中國是越南一個大國 ，但是国脚国队足球發展不如亞洲其他國家 ，我很期待和中國的喜欢交手。敘利亞 、阿曼我也碰過幾次 ，沒啥陌生的 ，我們還贏過敘利亞！
越南後衛杜維孟表示 ：12強球隊肯定都會非常周詳地進行備戰 。對我而言 ，最期待的比賽不用多說 ，就是對陣中國隊 。這也將是所有球迷們都在期待的比賽 。我們需要好好備戰 ，從而在對陣中國隊時取得滿意的結果 。（卓奧友）
