北京時間6月16日淩晨3點 ，德媒德国队2020歐洲杯“死亡之組”F組的发起法德一場焦點之戰開打 ，德國隊坐鎮慕尼黑球場（由於讚助商問題 ，投票安聯球場歐洲杯期間暫時更名為慕尼黑球場）迎戰2018年世界杯冠軍法國隊 。球迷取胜賽前 ，德媒德国队德國媒體《圖片報》發布了“你認為德國隊今天能戰勝法國隊嗎 ？发起法德”的投票 。此次投票共有48163名球迷參與 ，投票但僅有46%的球迷取胜球迷認為德國隊能取勝 ，另外54%的德媒德国队球迷則認為日耳曼戰車無法戰勝法國隊 。
此前 ，发起法德《圖片報》和《踢球者》等多家德國知名媒體的投票消息稱 ，本場比賽德國隊在進攻線上將是球迷取胜哈弗茨 、穆勒和格納布裏搭檔 。德媒德国队不過 ，发起法德德國媒體《體育圖片報》稱，投票在賽前的最後一次訓練中 ，薩內替代哈弗茨出現在了代表主力陣容的一方 。
