Despite the fact that Thom Yorke once called Spotify the "last desperate fart of a dying corpse," Radiohead's ninth album, A Moon Shaped Pool, will be released to the streaming service soon.
A Spotify representative tells Mashable that it will be available beginning June 17, the day of the album's physical release.
Upon its initial release on May 8, A Moon Shaped Poolwas immediately available on Apple Music, Tidal, and Amazon. At the time, Spotify representatives said, "We look forward to making the rest of A Moon Shaped Poolavailable on Spotify as soon as we can."
In the interview with Mexican site Sopitas in 2013 -- months after pulling many Radiohead albums from Spotify -- Yorke made his "dying corpse" comment and called on artists to boycott the streaming service.
"I feel like as musicians we need to fight the Spotify thing," he said. "I feel that in some ways what's happening in the mainstream is the last gasp of the old industry. Once that does finally die, which it will, something else will happen."
The album isn’t currently available on Google Play or SoundCloud. Representatives for both streaming services have not responded to Mashable's request for comment.
