北京時間7月12日 ，欧足據西班牙《阿斯報》報道 ，联计2020歐洲杯剛剛結束，划欧歐足聯卻已經醞釀對歐洲杯進行改製，洲杯至队组而主席切費林的扩军計劃就是擴軍 ，將現有的防止24隊擴軍至32隊 ，以防止像今年德法葡組成死亡之組的出现情況發生 。
