北京時間7月1日 ，国足2022年卡塔爾世界杯亞洲區預選賽第三階段暨12強賽分組抽簽儀式在馬來西亞吉隆坡的赛程首轮亞足聯總部舉行 。中國國家隊與日本 、月日澳大利亞、客战沙特阿拉伯 、利亚轮冲阿曼、最后越南同在B組 。刺抢
根據賽程顯示，国足中國隊首輪將於9月2日對陣澳大利亞 。赛程首轮關於是月日否恢複主客場製暫無定論 。
上屆世預賽12強賽,客战國足與韓國 、伊朗 、利亚轮冲敘利亞 、最后烏茲別克斯坦和卡塔爾分在同一小組,刺抢球隊最終以3勝3平4負的戰績位列小組第五名,未能晉級俄羅斯世界杯 。
