萊茵克爾寫道 ：“VAR做出的裁判絕妙反轉 。沃克被判罰紅點套餐 ，对沃紅牌是判罚個錯誤，但取消點球的取球奇決定非常奇怪。你可以爭論那是否是個點球 ，但主裁判已經判罰了點球，而這（判罰點球）顯然不算是明顯的誤判 。”
對於裁判的判罰 ，南安普頓隊長普勞斯在賽後接受采訪時也表示了疑惑 ，他說道 ：“我覺得很奇怪 ，從‘紅牌+點球’到最後什麽判罰也沒產生 ，這肯定會有介於兩者之間的一些東西。”
