北京時間10月13日淩晨 ，匈牙世預賽歐洲區I組第8輪 ，利球英格蘭坐鎮溫布利球場迎戰匈牙利 。迷英根據英國媒體天空體育報道稱 ，生冲在比賽進行過程中 ，突双匈牙利球迷與現場維持秩序的殴人警察發生肢體衝突 ，起因是被逮捕有一些匈牙利球迷嘲笑英格蘭球員在比賽前單膝下跪的行為 。
據報道稱 ，匈牙當英格蘭球員在開球前單膝下跪以示對抗種族歧視時 ，利球客場球迷看台上發出了嘲笑的迷英聲音 。在比賽開始後 ，生冲現場維持秩序的突双警察與匈牙利球迷在看台上發生肢體衝突，警察試圖用警棍控製騷亂的殴人人群，雙方發生激烈的被逮捕打鬥 ，警察一度被迫撤出看台 。匈牙警方隨後宣布有一名匈牙利球迷因“種族歧視擾亂公共秩序罪”被逮捕 。
值得一提的是，英格蘭在世預賽首回合客場對陣匈牙利的比賽 ，當時匈牙利球迷就出現了針對英格蘭球員的種族歧視行為 ，並且在比賽進行過程中，向英格蘭球員投擲物品 。
對此 ，英足總也發表了官方公告 ，英足總表示 ：“我們已經注意到了今天溫布利球場舉行的世預賽中出現在客隊看台的衝突 。我們將會進行調查 ，並向國際足聯進行報告 。”
