北京時間5月11日 ，記者趙宇在個人社媒上發文談到了新賽季的模式中超賽製。他表示 ，后面恢复中超三個賽區已經定了 ，考虑分別是场制大連 、梅州和海口 ，中超主客采取8+8+8+10的模式模式，後麵會考慮恢複主客場製 。后面恢复
趙宇寫道 ：
中超6月初開打 ，考虑賽區分別是场制大連、梅州 、中超主客海口 ，模式這個基本定了 。后面恢复計劃踢滿34輪，考虑模式是场制8+8+8+10 ，前8輪在賽區封閉情況下進行 ，後麵再恢複主客場 。考慮到比賽開始較晚 、賽程緊密 ，前16輪很大可能都在賽區踢 ，中間會給球隊留出轉換賽區時間 ，但時間非常短 ，此後再根據具體情況考慮恢複主客場製的可能性 。疫情下 ，中超開賽也受到了各種挑戰 。
