Peeps, adorable as they are, do not taste good.
That's fine! Your mom doesn't stock up on Peeps every spring for the flavor. No, she buys them for their squishy little chick-like shape and their unbelievably stabile shelf life.
So when Peeps Oreos landed on our desks, we were skeptical. These new, limited edition sandwich cookies feature a vanilla wafer with a hot pink "Marshmallow PEEPS FLAVOR CREME" filling, blended with fine sugar crystals that mimic the original marshmallow's crunchy coating.

From a few Mashablestaffers:
"I really loved it. It tasted like pink frosting and nothing at all like an actual Peep."
"The smell like Play-Doh, but taste pretty good. They do not taste like Peeps at all, besides some crunchy sugar in the frosting."
"They are like a little bite of spring. I enjoyed the surprising crunch from the creme."
"It tastes like a sugar cookie, though I'd rather be eating an actual sugar cookie."
One Peeps fan begged to differ with the general assessment:
"I think they tasted like Peeps after a few bites and were pretty good."
Peeps Oreos are on sale now, and, at the very least, are significantly better than Swedish Fish Oreos.
