北京時間12月24日 ，特塔谈奥阿森納主教練阿爾特塔在接受采訪時談到了奧巴梅揚，巴梅他表示保持尊重和信守承諾是扬保他最看重的事 ，如果做不到的持尊話 ，那還是重重做不走人走人算了 。
阿爾特塔表示 ：“我不是到请一個不近人情的人 ，我不會通過這樣的特塔谈奥方式來建立我的權威 。我要求球員們保持尊重 ，巴梅信守承諾 ，扬保就這麽簡單 。持尊做不到的重重做不走人話 ，那幹脆趁早打包行李 ，到请自己走人算了 。特塔谈奥我希望俱樂部裏的巴梅每個人都做到這兩點 。首先當然是扬保我自己 ，如果有一天我沒達到我說的要求 ，我立刻就走人 ，離開阿森納 。”
此前 ，由於紀律問題 ，奧巴梅揚被剝奪了阿森納隊長袖標 ，缺席球隊的近四場比賽 。
