It looks like Apple is finally finally finally fixing one of the worst problems with the iPhone X: unwanted screenshots.
The iOS 12 beta makes it harder to accidentally take screenshots when picking up the phone, according to people who've tested the update.

That may sound like a subtle change, but it fixes one of the biggest and most annoying design flaws with the iPhone X.

Some quick background: because of the placement of the power and volume buttons, which sit almost directly across form one another, you're almost guaranteed to take unintentional screenshots all the damn time.
Seriously. Just picking up your phone or pulling it out of a pocket or purse often results in a screenshot. Even several months after getting an iPhone X, I still manage to take about 1-2 screenshots a day, if my "recently deleted" folder is any indication.
It's not just me, either. This has pretty much been a constant complaint since the iPhone X launched last year.

It sounds like the iOS 12 update only applies to the lock screen when your display is off -- testers report you can still capture a lock screen screenshot when the display is on -- so it doesn't mean you'll neversnap an accidental screenshot again. Still, preventing screenshots when the display is off should go a long way toward fixing one of the most annoying (and common) issues.
