Jeffrey Tambor will reprise his role as George Bluth in Season 5 of Netflix's Arrested Development. Tambor was fired from Amazon's Transparent earlier this year after allegations of sexual harassment on set.
A Netflix spokesperson confirmed Tambor's return to Entertainment Weekly. The latest season of Arrested Developmentfinished filming around when allegations against Tambor first came up.
A few of Tambor's costars commented on the matter, ranging from David Cross's "We stand behind Jeffrey" to Jason Bateman's "I will always love that man" to Alia Shawkat saying, "It’s not about sharing my personal opinion of him. What those victims said needs to be heard just as much."
Tambor has denied all accusations and said he was "profoundly disappointed" in Amazon's investigation of the matter. Netflix has demonstrated strict policies on sexual misconduct, as with firing Kevin Spacey from House of Cards. Since Arrested Developmentwas filmed before allegations against Tambor surfaced, there isn't much the company can do (short of pulling a Ridley Scott).
As of now, Arrested DevelopmentSeason 5 does not yet have a release date.
