北京時間4月6日 ，官方來自國際體育仲裁法庭的俄罗官方消息稱，俄羅斯足協已經撤回了對旗下國家隊 、斯足赛上诉将世界俱樂部全球禁賽的协撤上訴 ，這意味著俄羅斯國家隊將確定無緣年底的回禁卡塔爾世界杯 。
在俄烏軍事衝突爆發後 ，彻底俄羅斯足球遭遇了西方的无缘一係列製裁 。此前，官方俄羅斯國家隊及俱樂部遭到了國際足聯和歐足聯的俄罗全麵禁賽 ，俄羅斯國家隊與波蘭隊的斯足赛上诉将世界世界杯預選賽歐洲區附加賽也被直接判負，波蘭隊不戰而勝 。协撤
俄羅斯足協此前曾向國際體育仲裁法庭提出上訴 ，回禁雖然得到了受理 ，彻底但是无缘在上個月則是被告知駁回了暫停禁賽處罰的請求 。據悉 ，官方在上個月底 ，俄羅斯足協告知國際體育仲裁法庭 ，表示將撤回上訴請求 ，終止上訴程序 ，這也意味著俄羅斯國家隊將徹底無緣卡塔爾世界杯 。
在俄羅斯 、波蘭 、瑞典 、捷克組成的歐洲區附加賽小組中 ，俄羅斯被判出局，波蘭不戰而勝 。隨後 ，波蘭又在決賽中2-0擊敗了淘汰捷克的瑞典隊，波蘭隊最終獲得了卡塔爾世界杯決賽圈的一個席位。
