Sometimes, you need to have a clear understanding of Hulk Hogan's musical prowess to decode trash talk. Such is the case with the recent Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson and Patrick Carney micro feud.
Last night, notorious sourpuss Carney of the Black Keys joined the club of critics, in great company with The Chainsmokers, who aren't really feeling "Perfect Illusion" in his new Vice News Tonight segment.

"First of all, I hate guitars that sound like that. I’m lost because the guitar at the top of it sounds so shitty. It’s like “Eye of the Tiger,” but not even nearly as good as that," said Carney. "It sounds like Hulk Hogan is playing the fucking guitar."
We will assume that Gaga and Ronson looked something like this while learning of the remarks:

The pair, who worked on the song together, seem pretty okay with Carney's critique. His pal Ronson brought up Uptown Funk's brand sparkling new diamond certification as evidence that taking Carney's advice isn't always advisable.

Carney did concede that the song is growing on him, and Gaga and Ronson don't seem too bothered. The takeaway message from all this really is that Hulk Hogan was in a prog rock band in the 70s.
